Gau Seva Activities

At our Gaushala, Gau Seva is a continuous commitment to ensuring every cow receives proper care, nutritious food, and a safe, healthy environment. Every activity is carried out with dedication by our staff, volunteers, and supporters to uphold the wellbeing of Gau Mata.

Dedicated Care & Daily Management

A team of 10 experienced staff members works every day to look after the cows. Their responsibilities include:

  • Feeding and caring for the cattle
  • Maintaining clean sheds and surroundings
  • Milking cows
  • Distributing fresh milk
  • Monitoring the health and wellbeing of every animal

Each cow receives personalised attention to ensure it remains healthy, comfortable, and well cared for.

Collection of Fodder & Food Donations

To make the best use of natural resources and community support, our 3 E-rickshaw drivers regularly collect:

  • Fresh green grass
  • Vegetable peels
  • Fruit peels
  • Other suitable cattle feed materials

This initiative helps reduce food wastage while providing nutritious supplements for the cows.

Veterinary Care

The health of every cow is our highest priority. Due to proper nutrition, hygienic conditions, and personalised care, the herd generally remains healthy throughout the year.

Instead of maintaining full-time veterinary staff, qualified veterinarians are called whenever medical attention is required, ensuring timely and professional treatment for any illness or injury.

Healthy & Well-Protected Herd

Our focus on preventive healthcare and proper management has resulted in an exceptionally healthy herd. The mortality rate is very low, with only 4 to 5 elderly cows typically passing away each year due to old age.

Daily Feed Requirements

Providing nutritious food every day is essential for maintaining the health of the cows. Our daily feeding programme includes:

Green Fodder
Approximately 15–18 quintals of fresh green fodder are purchased daily from the local Lakkar Mandi and open market to ensure a continuous supply of nutritious feed.

Wheat Straw (Tudi)
Around 5 quintals of wheat straw (Tudi) are consumed each day. To ensure uninterrupted availability, the Gaushala has already stored approximately 1,600 quintals of Tudi in its godown. Paddy straw is also purchased whenever required and available.

Cattle Feed
Approximately 200 kg of cattle feed is purchased from the market every day to provide balanced nutrition and support the overall health of the cows.

Our Commitment

Every contribution towards the Gaushala directly supports feeding, shelter, healthcare, cleanliness, and the daily care of Gau Mata. Through dedicated staff, responsible management, and community participation, we strive to provide a safe, loving, and dignified home for every cow under our care.
